We’ve partner with other established non-profits to make the biggest impact.

  • Dallas Pets Alive! (DPA!) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming at-risk dogs and cats in the Dallas area. Their mission focuses on reducing the number of animals in shelters and promoting responsible pet ownership. They achieve this through various initiatives, including adoption events, fostering programs, and educational outreach. Dallas Pets Alive! works diligently to ensure that every animal finds a loving home and advocates for the importance of spaying and neutering pets to prevent overpopulation.

    Lei Lei’s Legacy has partnered to support the Fospice care for DPA!

    Fospice for dogs is a compassionate solution that blends the concepts of fostering and hospice care. It is designed for dogs in their final stages of life who may need temporary care in a loving home environment, away from a shelter or rehabilitation facility. This approach allows for a more comfortable, peaceful, and nurturing setting during a dog’s remaining time.

    Key Aspects of Fospice Care:

    • Temporary Home: Dogs in fospice care are placed in a foster home where they can receive attention and love. This prevents stressful environments often found in kennels or shelters.

    • End-of-Life Support: Fospice care provides specialized support for dogs with terminal illnesses or those suffering from chronic conditions. Caregivers focus on comfort, quality of life, and palliative treatments rather than curative measures.

    • Personalized Care Plans: Each dog’s needs are unique. Caregivers create personalized plans that may include medication for pain management, mobility assistance, and special diets to ensure a dog’s comfort.

    • Emotional Well-Being: In addition to physical care, fospice emphasizes emotional well-being. Dogs in fospice often receive affection, companionship, and gentle activities to enhance their overall happiness.

    • Community Support: Fospice programs often build a network of volunteers and resources to aid foster caregivers. This community aspect not only provides support for caregivers but also ensures that dogs receive the best possible care.

  • Hearts & Bones Rescue is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit foster-based rescue with dual bases in Dallas, TX and New York City. They are dedicated to ending the needless euthanasia of shelter dogs through direct lifesaving, shared learning, and community building. They're incredible network of rescue partners, fosters, volunteers, and a small but mighty staff work together to save dogs from overcrowded Texas shelters and transport them to loving adopters in areas with higher adoption demand.

    Located in both New York, NY & Dallas, TX, Hearts & Bones is a top transfer partner for Dallas Animal Services (DAS). DAS is one of the largest intake shelters in our country and also where we adopted Leia from.
